Safety Rules & Regulations
These form part of our T&C and must be observed at all times.
- NEVER POINT A FIREARM AT A PERSON OR ANYTHING YOU DON'T WANT TO SHOOT - No matter how sure you are that the firearm is unloaded, NEVER point at anyone. Breaking this rule will result in immediate removal from the range.
- ALWAYS PROVE A FIREARM IS UNLOADED - If you pick up a firearm, pass it to someone or have it passed to you, check it is unloaded, even if you have just seen someone else check.
- DO NOT LOAD A FIREARM UNTIL YOU ARE AT THE FIRING POINT - A firearm does not need to be loaded anywhere else. Magazines may be loaded in other locations but must not be inserted until at the firing point.
- KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT - Don't touch the trigger until your target is in your sights and you are ready to shoot.
- DO NOT PICK UP A FIREARM OR AMMUNITION WITHOUT ASKING - Never touch or pick up a firearm without asking. You have no idea of the state of the firearm or it may even be in the process of being serviced and parts may fall out.
- DO NOT CONSUME ALCOHOL OR DRUGS - You will not be allowed on the range if you are suspected of drinking alcohol or taking drugs.
- DO NOT REMOVE AMMUNITION FROM THE RANGE - It is a severe criminal offence to remove ammunition from the range unless you hold a valid licence for that specific ammunition.
- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU SHOOT - Be aware of what you are aiming at and what's behind it. If you pull the trigger, you are responsible for whatever the bullet hits.
- BE AWARE OF GUNPOWDER RESIDUE - Although the range is cleaned regularly, there will be spent powder on surfaces. Shooting from a kneeling position or resting on a table may mark your clothing.
- H&S - Hearing protection must be worn at all times. In an emergency, a long whistle blow will be heard; place the firearm on a safe surface and stand back. Eye protection is available upon request.
- DATA - I understand the need for OSA to keep records of my attendance for police verification. We may inform you of upcoming events, but you can unsubscribe at any time.
- SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES - We are obliged to notify Thames Valley Police and provide them with your personal details should your use of firearms raise any suspicion.
